Why he killed Dahmer.

Christopher Scarver — who fatally beat the serial killer and another inmate in 1994 — said he grew to despise Dahmer because he would fashion severed limbs out of prison food to taunt the other inmates.

He’d drizzle on packets of ketchup as blood.

It was very unnerving.

“He would put them in places where people would be,” Scarver, 45, recalled in a low, gravelly voice.

“He crossed the line with some people — prisoners, prison staff. Some people who are in prison are repentant — but he was not one of them.”

Scarver, who arrived at Wisconsin’s Columbia Correctional Institution around the same time as Dahmer in 1992, knew right away to keep a safe distance from the serial killer.

Scarver said the madman had a personal escort of at least one guard at all times when he was out of his cell because of his friction with other inmates.

“I saw heated interactions between [Dahmer] and other prisoners from time to time,” Scarver said, adding that he didn’t think much of Dahmer.”

Gilgo beach killer still unknown

Detectives have not advanced the case in recent months and are in need of a tip from the public or lucky break, says the source, who has access to information about the probe.

“It’s been four years, and they’ve not got too much to show for it,” said the State Police officer, who is not involved in the investigation but is familiar with the work of those who are.

Suffolk County cops will say nothing. They’ve refused to speak with the media and won’t tell families of victims what they’re doing or if any progress has been made.

FBI turns animal cruelty into top-tier felony – WHP CBS 21 Harrisburg – Top Stories

It is about time. The connection between the abuse of animals and abuse of humans has been known about for a very long time.

It won’t catch every twisted killer but it will help law enforcement keep an eye on the soon to be killers.

FBI studies show that serial killers like Dahmer impaled the heads of dogs, frogs and cats on sticks; David Berkowitz, known as the “Son of Sam,” poisoned his mother’s parakeet; and Albert DeSalvo, aka the “Boston Strangler,” trapped cats and dogs in wooden crates and killed them by shooting arrows through the boxes.

Daun Richert-Slagle suing Lifetime

I hope that she wins.

A woman who was the sole survivor of a serial killer who claimed the lives of at least eight victims is suing Lifetime and parent company A&E Television after the network portrayed her as a prostitute in a recent made for TV movie.

Daun Richert-Slagle, from Chico, California, was a 21-year-old mother of three back in 1990 when she was assaulted for several hours by Keith Hunter Jesperson, the man who would eventually become known as the Happy Face Killer.

According to Slagle, it was only because she had her young son with her at the time that he eventually agreed to let her go.

Now, in the new Lifetime film Happy Face Killer, Slagle is being portrayed not just as a prostitute, but as a woman who willingly had sex with the serial killer in front of her own child.

Slagle has responded by filing a lawsuit against Lifetime and A&E Television.

‘Some of these things could literally destroy my career,’ the registered nurse said in an interview with KTLA.

‘In this particular case, Lifetime took somebody who had an innocent involvement with a serial killer and turned her, for whatever creative license or entertainment value, into a prostitute, into somebody trying to extort money, into being an unfit mother, which is completely deplorable,’ added her attorney Tre Lovell.

How dare they victimise her again,.

Aaaandd, we still don’t know who Jack the Ripper was.

Looks like I posted a little to quickly. Now now, I am not saying that Aaron Kosminski wasn’t the ripper I am saying the DNA is far from conclusive.

MtDNA is passed down from a mother to her children, and many people can share the same mtDNA signature. The signature linked to Kosminski, T1a1, is a relatively common subtype. Thus, the determination doesn’t mean much unless the signature can be narrowed down to a rarer subtype, or unless additional evidence can be brought to bear (as was the case for identifying the remains of Russia’s Czar Nicholas II and his family).

A larger question has to do with the scarf’s history: It’s been open to contamination for decades, and it’s not even clear that it was really left behind by Eddowes (or her killer) after the 1888 murder. “In the community of so-called experts, it’s not really considered evidence,” Ryder said.

Casebook Jack The Ripper is also not convinced and since that is THE place for Ripperplogists I give them weight.

The History Channel has a good article on this. The chain of evidence for the shawl tested is a little sketchy to say the least.

The Victorian-era shawl reportedly taken by Simpson passed from generation to generation of the policeman’s descendants until it was put up for auction in 2007 and purchased by Russell Edwards, an English businessman and self-confessed “armchair detective” who was fascinated by the coldest of cold cases. Although the silk fabric was frayed and aging, it still contained valuable DNA evidence since it was never washed. Now, after more than three years of scientific analysis, Russell says that Jack the Ripper’s true identity has been found interwoven in the ragged, 126-year-old shawl, and he fingers Polish immigrant Aaron Kosminski as the serial killer in his new book “Naming Jack the Ripper.”

I haven’t read the book yet but if any of you have please let me know what you think,

As of now even though I would have loved to have a name I also kind of like the mystery in this one case. Usually I really want the killer named this one though…. ?

Derrick Todd Lee denied request for new trial

By Quincy Hodges, NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune

A Baton Rouge judge has denied convicted killer Derrick Todd Lee’s appeal for a new trial in the killing of former LSU graduate 22-year-old Charlotte Murray Pace. Lee was sentenced to death in 2004.

Lee’s case automatically goes to the Louisiana Supreme Court, and if his claims are rejected, the case would go to the federal post-conviction relief stage. Lee made 28 claims, arguing the state has improper death penalty laws, East Baton Rouge Parish systemically discriminates against people of color, misconduct of trial counsel and he had ineffective defense counsel. All his claims were denied by District Judge Richard Anderson Tuesday afternoon.

Lee, 45, of St. Francisville, was also convicted of second-degree murder in the killing of Geralyn Barr DeSoto, 21, of Addis in 2002.

Lee is also suspected of killing seven women between in 1998 and 2003 in south Louisiana.

I do not understand why he is still being allowed to torment people, the families and communities that these ladies lived in. It is not right that he is allowed to keep inflicting pain and fear.
